THE IRISH

The year for a reunited Ireland -2023

The Irish are a wonderous lot
They love to dance and sing
When it comes to a drink
You can’t fly on one wing
The write great poems and stories
Of love and years of strife
No greater people good tell
The stories of their life
My Grandmother was from the Irish
She sang us Irish songs
Peppercorn cookies at Christmas time
They were very nice
You knew at the first bite
Then had a tasteful spice
With friends like Nelligan and Brannigan
You have people with high class
Those which you enjoy lifting a glass
The stories of the famine
Tell a sorry tale
The treatment from the English
Were way beyond the pale
The passing of the Queen
Could bring a wrong to right
It’s time for Ireland to finally unite.
