at once bookended
by the grim reaper
a paper sliver of space
between life and death
a thin second of time
we have cherished for ages
the time we love
the time we are loved
the refuge for togetherness
a consoling place
for forgiveness
where the poetry of friendship resides
dyeing to a family tapestry
in a caring compassionate abode
body and soul in submission
prone on the floor soul naked
we seek ever meekly blessings
divine graces from above
we have faith
our spirit transcending
goes beyond evermore
across the universes
for the love of life
for the life of love
celestial virtues dwell
in our soul’s hearth
hope at all times

in rebirth a life transforming
