Pum Pa Rum Pum

Joyous Peace
              Pum Pa Rum Pum

Around the bend a foggy morning at the clearing the wind sings a song
Gloria Krishna Hare Rama Rama Krishna Hare Hallelujah Alleluia

White robes mantra chanting krishnas now sing and dance jumping
Ever joyously ringing the bells clashing the cymbals shaking the gourds
Marching up the road brightly clad drummer boys in red and white
Welcome them with glorious pum pa rum pum of the snare drums

Gloria Krishna Hare Rama Rama Krishna Hare Hallelujah Alleluia
Hare Hare ramapum parumpum ramapum harepumpum Hare Hare

The tune softly riffs to the foggy hill golden silhouettes of tall straws
A straw in the wind shadows of turbans and hijabs slowly appear
Humming prayers and love to Allah Alhamdulillah praise be to God
Thank you for the Sun a heavenly gift merciful God Krishna Allah

Hare Hare ramapum parumpum ramapum harepumpum Hare Hare
Gloria Krishna Hare Rama Rama Krishna Hare Hallelujah Alleluia

Hallelujah praise be to God Krishna Allah Alhamdulillah Hallelujah
Praises to God chanted the snare drums bells cymbals gourds ring
Hands held circle forms as the faithfuls meet dance around the pond
Majestic olive green sun rays descend fog lifted a joyous gift of peace
Sky twinkles can be seen colorful Christmas gift laden sleigh appears
Lavender sparkles streak as the reindeers and sleigh cut in front of the Sun

“Ho! Ho! Ho!” the white bearded stout smiling purveyor of joy waves
“Joyous Peace to all and for all seasons on Earth” pumparumpum drums beat

Thanks for liking Kurt. And a warm welcome to you for joining us/me in this group. Linda and Amelia had also joined I believe. This is a very big group, world wide, but a very small core of followers seemed to have grown and kept me inspired and going - and have become close friends.
Nice to have them being supportive of me.

I cane envision that happening. When I lived in New York City, I saw the Hare Krishnas dancing through Central Park many times. Merry Christmas to all of different races and beliefs..

About the same time when I lived in DC/Fairfax County, VA. They were dancing / chanting “hare Hare Krishna krishna” in Town Centers and the airport. My original title for this poem was “Trinity” referring to “God, Vishnu (Krishna), Allah”. But we as Christians know who the “Trinity” is/are.
Christians, Hindus and Muslims worship One Almighty Being. If all three can hold hands in prayer circle and dance to the joyous sound of the snare drums, the bells , the chants and truly be monotheistic but appreciative of the differences culturally without biases - ‘‘tis a wonderful world.
For now this season of joy we can only lean on the other Trinity we know: Faith, Hope, Love.
Thanks Robert. Yes it can happen.
