Back to the Sun

Don’t the sea look good baby, coming up over the sun!
I really do think you should take on that marathon run
Well, will you jump ship baby and miss all of the fun?
Guess the captain won’t let you, and he’s loading his gun!

The storm clouds are gathering and the sea is getting rough
And I can’t make it baby because I can never get enough
Of those long days of sunshine and brightness of the sun
I’m here on my own and it’s like I have just begun

This rich man he’s calling me, say’s he is the one
Who will be able to get me a place on you’re run
I can’t pay his price so I’ll just have to be barred
From taking on that circus of clowns and regard

Now with not much to do I’m running out of time
And I can’t help but think that you’ll come on the line
To tell your sorrows of that ship and its fools
But I can’t help you baby, I’ve lost all the tools

It’s a very large hammer that cracks a heart of stone
And I’m thinking like you too, I will have to atone
Hear I am seeking your portrait, for one last look
I might forget you baby if you let me off the hook

But It’s too late now, you’re ship has gone down
And all of those runners have now left the town
No prizes were given; and there was no crown
But they are all still running, right back to sundown..

(2012)

A surreal romp across an ocean of doubt, where various circumstances abound, and all direction is lost, except they way back home from a dream......!
