A Rhapsody of Sorrow

A Rhapsody of Sorrow

Oh sweet rhapsody of sorrow
You filled my soul with your lament
I see beauty now as a
Fragile melancholy dream
A lonely venture to
Spaces unknown to me
Like the tired sun as it
Kisses the earth good-by

Oh sweet rhapsody of sorrow
Into your depths I
Place my heart and soul
I see beauty as an
Adornment of space beyond
Isn’t that where the
Holy Spirit dwells?

Oh sweet rhapsody of sorrow
You pulled me from my empty life
Where I laughed with strangers
At the face of beauty
But isn’t beauty an incarnation of God?
And sensitivity a lonely introspection
Looking into the depths of the infinite?
Oh sweet rhapsody
You blessed my soul
