The Clearing

The Clearing

Dark Tunnels shrouded my faith
Like the mist that gathers at the harbor
My running was a timeless race
The finish line, an open space

I saw angels dressed in black robes
As they laughed at my futile ways
The road to peace was a murky highway
Winding itself around my air supply

Dark tunnels were my only way out
They offered what little they had to me
I cried, I ran, I restored my faith
The light at the end
How glorious was thy beauty

Through the clearing
Heaven opened up its heart to me
I found my place
My home sweet home
