Slowly comes the smile
Gently across my face;
Inching onward, a breaking dawn
Stretching out like angel’s grace.
My hands come up to meet its ends,
Pointed as they are.
It’s been so long since we’ve last met;
We’ve come so very far .
Will you stay, my dear old friend?
If not, please visit once again.
You’re the essence of a better day;
In my head you will remain.
