My Place

I live in a room, in which I rent
It’s in a house with a family I met
There is a mom and a dad
And four children they’ve had
The two eldest are Seven and Nine years old
They always do what they are told
The other two are two year old twins
Six AM is when their morning begins
The family can be quite loud
But I stay away from the crowd
My room is my own place
I got a TV and a couch, the living room space
My box of food and mini fridge are my kitchen
My desk is my office, where this is written
It’s not much, but it’s enough
Money is tight and life is tough

(2013)

My living situation is kind of strange, but it is a chapter in my life I do not want to forget. This poem is to help explain it to those who don't understand that I am on my own, but not completely.
