Brother

Big Brother, You slowly raise me up,
To see the sky so beautiful.
Before, I was so small, unseen over the grass.
And now I see the world.

I sit atop your shoulders.
Where else would I rather be?
There’s no one in the world, big brother,
That loves you more than me.

When I grow old and weary,
I’ll look back upon that day.
The day you raised me on your back
and I’d hoped to be like you.

I see the pain form in your eyes,
and I am too young to mop them.
So I wait and support from your shadow,
and love you through it all.

My friend and love you are so strong,
here you are, you bear our world.
Remember without the strength you have,
How many of us would fall.
That little brother of whom I see,
Adores your every step.
He worships how you talk, you walk.
You’re something he wants to be.
And when I look at you some days,
I see the pain you hold.
I’ll do my best to make you smile,
I’ll be the hand to hold.
The storms we weather make us strong,
and stand together, we fly.
and should we tumble down to earth,
we can drown together, in that auburn sky.

Big brother, I am proud of you.
And I, I am too.
When we gaze up, girl and boy,
The sun shines down on you.
