If God is dead
we get eternal recurrence,
when things just keep happening over and over,
and transference,
where every authority figure
is our parents happening over and over
But if we’re alive to God
we get eternal coherence,
when over and over God loves us through and through,
while resolving our transference
by remembering over and over
that every authority figure is just another one of God’s children
