Outside
I peek outside my windows
I hide behind the door
Im safe here in the shadows
I have hidden here before
The world outside it scares me
My knees begin to shake
Ive put up a secure boundary
Not sure how much I can take
Too many people, staring, looking
When I go outside my house
So I hide away inside
Like a frightened little mouse
I know I have to be brave
Can’t hide away all my life
Have to come out of my cave
I have to go outside
So I pluck up all my courage
And I peep outside the door
I check that no-ones there
Before I step out once more
