casting shadows of people passing by
long summer days, warm and bright
sat outside long into the night
barbecue smells fill the air
lazing the hours like you haven’t a care
trips to the beach, to paddle in the sea
splash in the surf, happy and free
long journey home, in the back, kids asleep
fond summer memories to enjoy and to keep
