The Fate in Life

The day is just beginning
And I’m feeling down at heart
I have everything before me
All I hear are the black dogs bark
My thoughts are being scrambled
Am I about to fall apart?

Stepping through the darkness
Of this restless lonely life
Searching for the only one
Who can bring and end to strife
The road before me opens wide
And I see there’s nowhere else to hide

Foreign sounds in my ear appear
The trumpets of the past declare
A life that’s long without despair
The sparkling stars above me stare
Down from a heaven that shows no fear
But in my mind that Sunday light is clear

I turn to see what might be there
Are my fears admonished is that fair?
I stumble then and break my fall
And in some fright I then recall
Those voices in my mind that state
That all of life is based on fate
