Ticking Time-Bomb

I saw your eyes in the dark
I felt your heart, beat for beat
I heard your voice through a photograph
It seems my passion was just too cheap
I wonder about the last time I heard your laugh
You’ve always had me cornered
In a place at the back of my mind
I’m a motion picture remake
A failure as one of a kind

You’ve always had me half way underground
With your hands wrapped around my throat
I’m not some fairytale love
I’m not even apart of that quote
You never had to purchase
A free-bee like me
I’m left to the flies
As a rotting piece of meat
I’m nothing but flesh
I’m nothing but skin and bones
But I have something called a heart
Where yours’ should be dwells a hole
I can’t be your rock anymore
I can’t keep your ship anchored down
I’m more than just an eye sore
I want to feel something more than doubt

Why can’t you stop where you are
Notice what’s there for a change
With old faces
And hair full of mange
You think you’re so perfect
That’s what I once thought as well
But now that’s not the case
I’m not some property that you can sell
You can try to heal yourself
Think you’re fine the way you are
I know you know
You’re miserable
You’re just as broken as I am
I no longer wish for you to be my friend
Because you’ve led me straight down a dead end
I will remember everything you have ever said
I am just another promise you’ll forget

I saw your eyes in the dark
I felt your heart, beat for beat
I heard your voice through a photograph
It seems my passion was just too cheap
I wonder about the last time I heard your laugh
You’ve always had me cornered
In a place at the back of my mind
I’m a motion picture remake
A failure as one of a kind

I’m a ticking time-bomb
And I rest my case
I am in your heart
It’s only a matter of time before I finally blow
Tick, tick, tick
