Emerald Sonnet

If the universe were still before thee
Ready to gaze at thine emerald eyes
Then the quiet sun and stars dim would be
For what could compare to thy cosmic dyes?
The jewel of the mind glistens in the dreams
That paint the world as if thee were the moon
That casts the shadow as if it beseems
To free thee from thy silvery cocoon
And if I could bestow unto the sky
I would gift the Milky Way with the sound
That supersedes thy harmonizing sigh
That fills the world with messages profound
And if the heavens were still before thee
Then all the world would behold thy beauty
