Dear Audrey
This is our Golden Anniversary -
A very special day,
My heart holds much that
I really want to say;
I love you more dearly than
The spoken word can state,
It is time I share my thoughts
Before it is too late.
How often have I said, “I love you”-
Not often enough, my dear,
Yet my love grows stronger
With every passing year;
You are my pride, my joy,
My guiding star—
With your support and confidence
We pushed life’s door ajar.
After 50 happy years together,
During which we have been blessed—
A wonderful family and quality of life,
Together we’ve had the best;
So “thank you”, dear Audrey,
For fulfilling all my dreams;
Fifty years ago we wed—
Like yesterday it seems!
