Sea of Life

The sea is calm, as well as tumultuous, it is transparent, and it is sometimes opaque.

Within it are great riches.  With one sweep it can leave barren all that it touches.  Its channels are laden with obstacles both visible and obscure.

Frequently, the sea may be conquered by drifting with the tide, while at other times, resistance with every fiber is necessary

It feeds a great share of the inhabitants of the world, yet, it destroys those who ignore its rules.

Although often unpredictable, the tide and channels of the sea are charted with great accuracy.  It can sink great ships, but only if it swamps the hull.

So it is with life!
