To Audrey

Never shall I forget
How very proud I was
When you so sweetly acknowledged
It was I you truly loved.

Wonderful things happen—
Events we can’t foresee,
But none compares with your consent
To share your life with me.

Imagine me without you
Not knowing I could stay,
Missing the excitement
Of sharing your each day!

Partnership in marriage
Is essential, so they say;
But that which you contribute
Goes far beyond half way.

To “your boys” you are a wonder
They’ve become your way of life;
Three lucky sons and a happy dad
Are proud of mother and wife.

Your happy way of living
Is like a beam of light,
Guiding us home to you each day
Where the world becomes just right.

Your logic forever astounds me
How can you truly say,
“It’s bright”, when things are dismal–
Because you think that way!

Our silver anniversary
Can this be really true?
I shall go on forever
Always loving you.
