Dumbo

He tried brainstorming– what a draught
Millions of words– not one bright thought;
To this credit– he’s smart as can be
But, that leaves little hope, you see.

He goes through life believing all he’s told
Saves him responsibility of thinking too bold;
His mind keeps wandering– he follows it lead
Stumbling along– never fulfilling a need.

He’s nobody’s fool– an orphan, no doubt,
Had a stone in his foot– thought it was gout;
Speaks straight from the shoulder– a trifle low
Once had an idea– couldn’t stand the blow!
