If you did, would you watch us laugh?
After what had happened to us?
Would you thumb through every poem,
To find those about you,
Wanting to know what I really felt?
What were you looking for?
A sign that I miss you?
A sign of the sadness in my heart,
When I appear happy around you?
You don’t hate me at all
You don’t hate anything I’ve done.
You just want to be right.
Is that it? You want to be right?
You want me to tell you that you’ve won?
Well, here it is. I miss you.
You might have been right, sure.
But I don’t care. I want to find out
Without you telling me what to do.
I miss you like crazy, so much it hurts.
Now you’ve won your battle.
But don’t tell me that I was wrong
To say I wasn’t going to fight you.
Because I don’t chase people.
