Revisiting The Pink House

Welcome back to my Pink House
The place inside some naive little girl’s mind.
Only existing because she’s such a dreamer,
With her big imagination and her story-telling knack.

One day she took her dream a little bit too far
When she met a boy that made her promises that
Neither one of them could really ever keep.

Still, when he made all those pretend promises
She took them and ran, and imagined a life with him
A perfect, fairytale life for the two of them
In their pink house with their big dog.

It was good,
But good things end, she’s learned
And fairytales don’t really come true.

Now it’s time to gather our things and move on,
So here we are, back at this Pink House
Rummaging through these old memories
That never really happened, that never could’ve happened

Because it was just this crazy dream.
A good dream—But a dream nonetheless.
And now, she tries hard not to dream like that anymore.
