The Words
Why do I say I love you?
A question I can’t quite answer.
It just feels right to say it to you,
Like there is no one I can tell,
No one except for you, my love.
Those words do come from my lips
To several of those around.
They won’t know the difference,
But the words don’t mean a cut as much
As they do when I say them to you.
Though they don’t begin to express
Just how I feel towards you,
The words are a good start to you and I.
Those small three words are a good start
To the forever that lies ahead.
