Be joyful the ninth of May
Hopeful we’re not bystanders
On this most propitious day
There’ll be forces against us
But the dragon we must slay
Marcos years to the dustbin

Today, we’re at the crossroads
History will judge us all
Will we have pink tomorrows?
Will we again sell our soul?
Once, we flirted with greatness
Seems so very long ago
When mighty people power
Forced the plunderers to go
Let’s have the courage to ask
For a leader square and true
To the four winds, shout out loud
Demand honesty anew!
Right now, we have the power
Use wisely, don’t waste away
Let roses be tomorrow
Be brave on the ninth of May!
