Spritely darting to and fro...

Spritely darting to and fro
A sunshine’s glimmer, toe to head
Unexpected directions here to shimmer
It’s dimmer on the edges of a transparent world.

She welcomes me in her mischief
I accept her hands
And she understand something I do not.
Rot, wraught, frail, fraught -

What describes the tune and
Where is my pitchfork
When I need to reassemble myself
Into an anomaly amongst the stars?

Perfectly imbalanced, record slightly scratched
Her scars are showing and I love them.
I want to trace the history of the collapse
When the blood flowed,
And it showed
Another perspective
About how our pain is not only ours,
But belongs to anyone who can also see.

Even the blind man will feel it
When the shrieking pierces through the veil.

Be the light in the darkness, she says.
Follow me, she coos.
I have no recommendations for where I should go next
Because I won’t know until I’ve arrived there,
Staring back at the past and smirking.

Shirking my duty of dutiful rest, whence my eyes
Shut, but
Not permanently.

I save that duty for another day.
I’ve got shit to do.
