You gave to me this living hope, that lives in heart and mind,

You gave to me fond memory, though the future is unknown.
You gave to me opportunity, to see past the beautiful shell,
You gave to me eternity, though at times it is this hell,
You gave to me your outstretched hand, a shelter from the pain,
You gave to me an inner smile, even in this rain.
You gave to me a nightmare, that each night comes alive,
You gave to me the faith to hold, the music we saw live,
You gave to me imagination, that comes from in the heart,
You gave to me a whisper, that caresses me in the dark.
You gave to me all of you, except for one small piece,
You gave to me the coming day, with a light that will not cease.
You gave to me appreciation, for all the things we found,
You gave to me the woman I need, and to silence you gave sound.
You gave to me my other half, as we gave to each our love,
You gave to me these dreams and goals, and a heart with real blood,
You gave to me an endless need, that each day means more and more,
You gave to me a belief in you, and a smile for the days in store.
