Soliloquy

Life Goes On
           Soliloquy

And the day
    Is done
Sweet lullaby
    Now come
A night
    To dream of morrow
Hoping
    A day of no sorrow

We wake up
Smile
We repeat

Day again done
Lullaby upon
Dream of morrow
Of no sorrow

A day of happiness
    Not any gloominess
A glorious day
    Heart kept not stray

We repeat we wake up life goes on
Smile like before and we carry on

A sky clearly cerulean blue gorgeous
Inviting but alas it seems roguish
A day in the life outside the bubble
Yes certainly there is fear and trouble

Wake up
Wash up get ready
Go to work 8am
Locked up in office for nine hours
Home at 5pm
Dinner at 6
TV till 10
Sleep

Repeat... for five days

Still better than alternative. Housebound 24/7 if not working.

Roll with the punches and get up when floored. Continue to shuffle.

You summed up the lot of the whole human race in this poem, Nelson. We get through the day, make our choices, and fall asleep in hopes for a better day tomorrow. I have been feeling this monotony keenly this year. You nailed it.

Thank you for the like Olga.
It was a routine new year’s Eve 2020 celebration, nothing surreal expected. The world had a grand time, fireworks and all. Voila! We ended up sheltered in bubbles and arguing about wearing masks. We remain scared and rightfully so.
Uncertain times beget all kinds of fears. 2020 certainly is a Salvador Dali’s camembert. We all want to return to the safety of the world we knew prior even if only in dreams.
Thanks again for your visit and kind words. Lucky am i to have met a new friend.

Thanks Robert.
Makes you wonder what wiped out our extinct human species cousins. Nothing they could have done except being perplexed and accept. Certainly as humans with inherent compassion they grieved as well.
