Many miles away

I do not know about you but this I would say
My hairs no more black and it’s now gray
My body’s now flesh and bone and I’m feeble by the day
But I still wait for my love who’s now, many miles away.

It’s been quite sometime and I know that she’s now gone
But I would wait and wait, even if I have to be reborn.
I hope that she still loves me and will be back someday
I still wait for my love who’s now, many miles away.

Far in a distant land, is where she’s gone
My pockets are empty and my shoes all torn
And I still keep my hopes alive day after day
I still wait for my love who’s now, many miles away.

I have loved her with a heart of pure intent
If only I could see her once, my life would be content
I would long for no further desire
And from all wants in life I would retire

If I cease to exist and that I’m there no more
Even in my life next would the “wait” encore
I would wait and wait till my very last breath
And if given the chance, I would wait even in my life after death.
