Mis-judgement?

I could walk the breadth of this land
Just to find wherever now you stand
But it’s useless now and that I know
I can’t hold you against your will so I let you go

Believe it or not but this I say to you
Sometimes what you see could be untrue.
If you think what you saw is evidences strong
It’s not what you think and I can prove it wrong.

My best friend’s wife– she had come to seek my aid
You found it fishy and you walked out on me instead
You must have thought that she was my girl next
It was wrong of you to judge the book without reading the text.

Her husband never liked her family and her mother was ailing
Deteriorating by the day, her health was failing.
To cover up for her expenses, she needed some money
But, explaining all this to you ain’t it so funny.
If only you the patience to lend her your ears then
You would have understood it all within no second.

She thought it was best in me confiding
For we had a bond so binding
I had to help her and I know this is not your worry
But please believe me– this is no covered up story.

Whatever be the case, I seem to have lost you for good
And you are there no more where you once stood
Sometimes what you see is not what you think
And even on a calm sea would a sailing ship sink.
