The Middle Class Used to Have Strength in Numbers; Now It Too Is Just Playing the Numbers
Our civilization is like an egg–
It can withstand enormous pressure
at the top
(for the obvious reasons)
and bottom
(for reasons that would be obvious were anyone paying attention)
but if you squeeze the middle
it explodes
