The Child Within

The Child Within

    ~~ Rob ~~

Where is the child that lived in me,
I could gaze upon the golden beach.
The moon was there for me to see,
Nestled sweetly within my  reach.

Where are these fanciful magical dreams,
Once the miracles would just flow.
Lost are my fabulous wonderful schemes
Tell me, where did my innocence go.

Did the child’s mind within me die,
Was there a cause, or was the time due.
That glory is lost, I  want to cry,
The child’s perception is all through.

My vision jaded, sometimes forlorn,
These are real visions, my eyes now see.
My eyes though older, they feel reborn,
For a child we cannont stay or be.

My eyes are now older and see not well,
Dreams can sometimes be hard to find.
Old visions in my mind still dwell,
My dreams, they hide within my mind.

The wheel has turned, I need my dreams,
The door has opened, my mind can now see.
Once again i see those magical schemes,
A child reborn, he lives within me.

(2013)

Simply the natural cycle of life and how we see it with our minds eye.
