The door

There once was a boy
Who was sent to the store
He followed the path
Till it led to a door
The door was old
Weathered and cracked
It was sealed with a lock
But a key it had lacked
He peeked around the edges
And saw no one in sight
He knocked and then waited
He knew it was right
He waited and waited
Yet no one came
He had to return
When his mom called his name
He opened his door
To a mad mothers glare
I have returned with nothing
He squeaked quite scared
Retuned with nothing
The beast had roared
But mother I couldn’t
In the way was a door
Why is it you didn’t walk
Around either side
I, but, well…
Then walked back outside
